CEBU, Philippines - Four people, including a woman suspected to be a drug peddler, were arrested by police in buy-bust operation in Cebu City.
Operatives of the City Intelligence Branch of the Cebu City Police Office carried out the operation in Barangay San Roque around 8 p.m. and arrested their target Teresita Buangog, 52, who allegedly sells shabu to the immediate area.
Police also arrested three other suspects namely Joel Lahoylahoy, 34; Romel Balbuena, 41; and Bryan Alcantara, 24, all neighbors of Buangog.
Inspector Wayne Magbanua, deputy chief for administration of CIB, said the operation stemmed from a complaint they received from an informant regarding the alleged drug peddling of Buangog who also allegedly goes under the alias “Inday Tomboy.â€
After confirming the report through surveillance, Magbanua said they arranged a transaction with Buangog and had poseur-buyers buy a pack of shabu worth P200 from the suspect.
PO2 Glenn Alicaba and a confidential informant served as the poseur-buyers.
The suspect was arrested as soon as she handed over a pack of suspected shabu to the policeman and received the marked money.
Backup policemen also arrested the three other suspects who were reportedly caught about to use shabu inside Buangog’s residence.
When police searched Buangog’s house, Magbanua said they found 34 other packs of suspected shabu from a table.
The suspect, in an interview, admitted to selling shabu but said she only gets a small percentage for every transaction. She did not reveal who supplied her the drugs.
The three other suspects claimed that they only happened to be in the area when the policemen arrived. — (FREEMAN)
