CEBU, Philippines - Police Regional Office-7 director, Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo, paid a farewell visit yesterday to top Capitol officials following notices that he will be transferred soon to Manila.
Garbo confirmed that in a matter of days, he will be assigned in Camp Crame where he is up for promotion. Garbo said he has not received formal documents but was given notices already of the transfer.
He said he saw the need to visit Davide and Magpale considering their “good working relationship.â€
A resolution was also passed during the session of the Provincial Board “commending PRO-7 Director Marcelo Garbo for ensuring a peaceful and orderly conduct of the recent May 13, 2013 midterm elections in Central Visayas.â€
Davide said Garbo has done well for the region and the province. “I really must commend General Garbo sa iyang pagka RD, maayo pagkadala.â€
Davide said Garbo handled the recent election professionally as well as the implementation of the suspension order against former governor Gwendolyn Garcia.
Garbo was hit with criticisms during the height of Garcia’s suspension, including the election, for alleged biases in favor of the members of the Liberal Party.
Garbo said he has already forwarded to Camp Crame the request for the list of recommendations for Davide to choose from as the next Cebu Provincial Police Office director.
Davide said he will wait for the official list from Camp Crame although names have already been floating for the position like Regional Personnel and Human Resources and Development Division chief, Sr. Supt Noel Gillamac, Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division Sr. Supt Armando Radoc and Regional Public Safety Battalion Chief Leopoldo Cabanag.
