CEBU, Philippines - A sixteen-year-old member of a certain gang called the Crips was arrested past midnight last Saturday after she was caught carrying around an improvised shotgun locally known as a “pugakhangâ€.
The minor was arrested after a concerned citizen saw her holding the said weapon while drinking with friends at a gasoline station in Barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City, last Saturday evening.
Casuntingan chief Senior Insp. Ramil Morpos revealed that they were conducting a follow-up operation to an ambush incident when a concerned citizen approached them and told them about the minor and her friends at the gasoline station past midnight last Saturday.
The concern citizen described the female as having long hair, wearing a white t-shirt and bringing a sky blue backpack where the gun was placed.
Morpos and his men immediately went to the gasoline station and saw the minor run to the gasoline station’s comfort room just as they were approaching.
Police checked on the backpack and found the improvised shotgun with a 12-gauge round. The minor denied owning the gun.
When asked who owned the gun the minor refused to tell.
The minor is now detained in the Subangdaku police station facing charges of illegal possession of firearms and live ammunition. (FREEMAN)
