CEBU, Philippines - The Regional Anti-human Trafficking Task Force (RATTF) is set to file today criminal complaints against the suspect in the abduction and rape of a 16-year-old college student in Naga City.
The RATTF will file the complaint for consented abduction against Frederick Benedict Go before the Naga City Prosecutor’s Office while a separate complaint for rape in relation to child abuse will be filed before the Talisay City Prosecutor’s Office.
The complaints were filed yesterday before the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s Office but was not accepted for lack of jurisdiction.
RATTF operatives arrested Go on Tuesday at an eatery in San Antonio Village, Tabada Extension, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City. His arrest was based on the positive identification of the victim, who escaped from abduction last Wednesday.
The victim, name withheld, identified the suspect based on the photo found in the place where she was allegedly brought by the suspect.
The police are still looking for Go’s four cohorts. Authorities are also calling on other victims to come out and report the incident.
The victim was abducted near a mall in Barangay West Poblacion, Naga City. She was brought at a motel in Talisay City where the alleged rape took place.— (FREEMAN)
