Cops seek help from LTO to find robbers’ vehicle

CEBU, Philippines - Police investigators are now seeking the help of the Land Transportation Office 7 to recover a freezer van that two unidentified robbers used as get-away vehicle after robbing a Korean store in Barangay Kasambagan last Wednesday.

Cebu City Police Office acting director Mariano Natu-el said they need the help of LTO in tracing the freezer van with plate numbers LMG-113. The van was also stolen by the robbers from the Korean store.

Natu-el, however, said the robbers may have already changed the plate numbers with a fake one. Although the robbery was captured in the security camera, the police could not identify the robbers because they were wearing hooded jackets.

A former employee of the Korean store who was terminated last week is now considered one of the suspects.

“Usa sa mga suspek nato ang former employee na posible may grudge sa amo  (one of our suspects is a former employee who may be harboring ill-feelings against his former employer),” said Natu-el.

Assi Mart owned by Lee Won Chul and a nearby Yeson Travel Agency were robbed by two unidentified persons the other day. The robbers carted away P100,000 from the store and another P100,000 from the travel agency.

Three of the store employee’s including the guard were locked inside the comfort room. One of the robbers pretended to be a customer before declaring a hold up. (FREEMAN)
