LP tells people about Gwen’s cases - Gigi

CEBU, Philippines - The Liberal Party has been telling the people about the cases that suspended Governor Gwendolyn Garcia is facing in their campaigns according to the daughter of the late Vice Gov. Greg Sanchez.

The lone LP candidate for a Provincial Board seat in the third district, Grecilda “Gigi” Sanchez,  said this when asked in the 888 News Forum at Marco Polo Plaza yesterday how they intend to counter the influence of the Garcias  in the area.

“Considering the fact nga daghan kaayo kaso giatubang si suspended Gov. Gwen, our campaign revolves around telling the people what actually happened at the Capitol,” Sanchez said.

Gwen is running for congress in the third district to replace her brother, incumbent Rep. Pablo John Garcia, who is running for governor.

Sanchez said that they are informing the people of the case that her father filed when he was still alive and giving them the necessary details including the evidences that triggered the suspension of the governor.

She said that Gwen’s oppressive moves against Greg extended to some areas in the third district like Barili.

“We just simply tell them the truth. We tell them what actually happened and we can relate it to the fact nga nakita gyud,” Sanchez said.

Sanchez cited the Balili case which her father reportedly advised the governor not to go on with the deal.

Gov. Garcia was suspended for the administrative complaints filed by the late vice governor while she is also facing criminal cases before the Sandiganbayan because of the Balili lot deal.

Sanchez claimed that their campaign together with LP congressional candidate, Pinamungajan Mayor Geraldine Yapha, is going well.

“Our roads have never crossed at some point, mahibaw-an naa siya sa pikas barangay pero wala mi nagkita,” Sanchez said.

Sanchez is happy that the supporters of her father are still around even after two years since his death on April 29, 2011.

Sanchez also clarified that there is only one candidate of LP for the PB seat following reports that her opponents also claimed that they belong to the party.

She is referring to incumbents PB Members Alex Binghay and Caesar Ian Geronimo Zambo of One Cebu.—(FREEMAN)
