Cops now have sketch of couple’s killer

Ria Mae Y. Booc - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The Minglanilla police now have the cartographic sketch of the assailant who shot dead Lellosa del Rosario Flores, 42, and her live-in partner Alexander Samson, 40, last Wednesday in Barangay Poblacion Ward 4, Minglanilla town.

Police also said the mastermind of the crime is still in their area of jurisdiction although he declined to give further details.

Chief Insp. Timmar Alam, Minglanilla police chief, also told The FREEMAN that the assailant was not from Minglanilla but from a neighboring town.

Two witnesses described the assailant as 5’5” to 5’6” tall, with a round face, dark complexion, and about 30 to 35 years old.

Alam added that Joel Bagao, Flores’s former live-in partner, who was invited to the police station for questioning, was released after he did not match to the facial composite made.

“So far ang among gi-invite wala ni match sa description sa mga witness pero madakpan ra ni namo,” Alam said in a phone interview.

Flores and Samson were walking home when the unidentified assailant, who was reportedly waiting for them at a dim portion of the road, shot at the victims hitting them in different parts of their bodies. Both were declared dead on arrival at the Minglanilla District Hospital.

Four empty shells of 9mm cal. pistol were recovered at the crime scene after the incident.

Alam said they have yet to ascertain the motive behind the incident based on the background of Flores who once had previous relationships with two other men before Samson, as well as possible rivalry in the marketplace.

“Mao ni karon among gilihok ang pagdakop sa assailant ug sa mastermind pero tanan possible nga angulo ato gihapon gitan-aw,” Alam said. (FREEMAN)
