Happenings around town

The Cebu Lady Lawyers Association, Inc. (CELLA) celebrated its 27th year anniversary two full moons ago. On this occasion, Cella gave back. It had a full packed whole day activity commencing with a feeding at the Children's Haven Orphanage in Pilipog, Cordova, Cebu, where it fed a hundred children and turned over medicines and toiletries for the children. After the feeding, Cella visited its founder, Ret. Judge Exaltacion Navarro at St. Camillus Home in Talamban. The day ended with a casual anniversary and Christmas party held at the well-manicured home of Atty. Jugce Adlawan. Congratulations CELLA!

Janet Alfafara breezed into town a few weeks past, and without much ado, dear friend Nelia Neri hosted a lunch for her at an uptown resto. Janet was our gracious escort during our two trips to Australia… first in Sydney and Gold Coast and the second to Adelaide. She was with Qantas Airways at that time and our trips were wonderful and enjoyable.

They're back… the guys from Las Vegas or as we call them the traveling family. After they attended a wedding two months ago here in Cebu, they're back this time as sponsors of another wedding of a family friend. The group is headed by Dr. Jonathan Reboton and his wife Beth. Also with the couple are their children, Erika with fiancé Alex Scheuch and son Jon with fiancée Tammy Kim with Beth's sister, Elvie Malasarte. The group loves to travel… in fact, they just came from Peru, then Korea and now Cebu. They will be here to watch the Sinulog Mardigras!
