Filipino Delicacies at the Bibingka Station

CEBU, Philippines – The spirit of Filipino Christmas is all the more pronounced as the beloved Bibingka Station at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino is now open, with a variety of Filipino delicacies. Located at the lobby level of the Gourmet Walk, it opens daily from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. All delicacies are great to pair with a cup of hot "sikwati" (native chocolate drink).

At the start of the Misa de Gallo tradition, from December 16-24, the Bibingka Station is open from 4:30 dawn to 7 in the morning, so Mass goers may enjoy these delightful treats before and after each dawn Mass.

Bibingka is a favorite local cake made from pounded glutinous rice mixed with coconut milk and sugar and originally baked in a clay mould with fire directly over and under it. Several variations in the bibingka recipe and baking procedure have since come out - but bibingka remains a dearly beloved treat among Filipinos - and even to foreigners who have tasted it.
