CEBU, Philippines - Workshop-type courses are good to take for summer, especially by young people who want to advance their creative skills and power-charge their personalities but are preoccupied with regular-school studies. For instance, in just a few workshop sessions enrolees may be turned into being the next top models or comic book writers and illustrators.
The UV New School of Art and Design (UVNS) offers the Stylissimo Summer Modelling Workshop for young people ages 13 to 19 years old. The short course trains participants in basic modelling and image building. The envisioned result is either to produce a new breed of advertising models or simply self-confident young people.
For 12-year-olds and up who want to learn the art of putting words and images together, enrolling in the Comic Book Creation Workshop is the best way to spend the rest of summer. UVNS partners with Cebu Comicon to help workshop enrolees develop their creativity in this field of art.
Workshop sessions are every Saturday, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m., from May 10 - June 14.
UVNS is a school that aims to nurture the creative spirit. Courses are run differently; no grades, no minor subjects. It’s just letting loose in a systematic way budding artistic passion and creative potential, in order for these to develop fully. The regular courses offered are Visual Design (1-year Certificate Course), 2D Animation and 3D Animation (both 2-Year Certificate Courses). The school is located at the 4th floor of UV Gullas Medical Center on Gov. M. Cuenco., Banilad, Cebu City; phone number: 511-1163.
