MOVE, move

CEBU, Philippines - The shape resembles Lisa Macuja’s pointe shoes—the pair she usually wears in her ballet performance worldwide—so you can begin by telling your daughter that all princesses must go through this movement.

Or maybe, you don’t need to convince them at all.

Footzyfolds at Schu in Ayala Center Cebu captures the child’s nods with its latest line of ballet flats. Well, no need for further explanation here: Find me a little girl who doesn’t beam at a sight of glistening magenta footwear.

Black is safe and too mature if it’s all pale, but if it’s encrusted with sparkling patterns, I do hope it’s already a different story.

Although not a substitute for running shoes, girls can walk longer distance in these, jump higher, and well—if she can like our models (sisters) Margaret Therese and Elizabeth Lianne Tan—achieve ballerina grace.

There were moments when the concept crossed over into glamorous conviction. A shoe designed to look like the grass of a woodland glade had a shaggy splendor. A sequin shimmered like sunlight on water.

Now, the girls can listen to a fashion fairy tale—to spun a bucolic back story for Footzyfolds’ collection: nymphs, fairies, silvery reflections in woodland ponds. (FREEMAN)
