Korean Ambassador Visits Cebu

H.E. Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Hyuk was in Cebu recently. To welcome the Ambassador, Korean Consul General Atty. Augusto Go hosted lunch at the Cebu Country Club for the members of the media to meet his Excellency. Ambassador Lee Hyuk was accompanied by his beautiful wife Madame Won Wan Soo. Also with Ambassador Lee was Kunho "Ken" Choi, Korean Association President in Cebu.

According to Ambassador Lee, he was impressed with the Cebuanos since they are hospitable and friendly. He added that there are now 20 to 30,000 Koreans living in Cebu. In fact, these Koreans have opened businesses like restaurants, food mart and selling their own products to the Cebuanos.

There was a good repartee during the presscon, and the media was delving on the controversial Korean noodle. Of which, the good-looking Ambassador explained that the manufacturing company has been doing everything possible to correct the controversy.

After lunch and presscon, Ambassador Lee left for the airport back to Manila.

The World Wide Works General Training Services, Inc. held their 4th Commencement Exercises in Shielded Metal Arc a few weeks ago at the Cebu Technological University Activity Center. The Training Center opened its door on September last year as a learning school for welders. Mr. Apolonio "Ligligg" Maranga Jr., president and CEO of WWWCTS said that they have competent welder instructors. After a year of operation, they were able to send more than a hundred graduates to work abroad.

World Wide Works Training Director Dr. Silvano Maranga stated that the instructors are doing their best to train their students so that after graduation, their qualifications will meet international standards. World Wide Works Chief Administrator Jozzyda Marie Maranga is helping run the school to the best of her ability to assure better prepared graduates.

Gloria Tango; East West Placement Center, Inc. Branch Manager Mylene Ruello, Wellmade Motors President & CEO Engr. Phillip Tan and Don Bosco Branch Ed Villordon and Director Rossana Urdaneta of TESDA Region VII. WWGTSI is a TESDA accredited earning center.
