Doctors and models join for a cause

CEBU, Philippines -  What started as a wild idea by some surgeons caught like wildfire, et voila! It became Paso Canta Sayaw, the much ballyhooed entertainment show for a cause with lauriat dinner staged at the Cebu Grand Convention Center. To sum it all up, it was a Doctors Without Borders cum Philippine College of Surgeons Got Talent rolled into one.

Indeed, talent was a-plenty as doctors struted the rose lined runway, burst into a medley of songs and performed musical instruments and danced the night away. Adding to the glam factor were Cebu's world class beauty queens cum models Karla Bautista Siao, Stephanie Rose Senires, Anna Maris Igpit, Sian Elizabeth Maynard and Karla Henry clad in Wendell Quisido's haute couture collection. Who would have thought that the surgeons, experts in the field of medicine, can give the models a run for their money? They sashayed like professionals, belted songs with nary a note astray and performed with gusto, rewarded by a much welcomed applause from the invited guests.

Even more notable was the fact that all proceeds will be for the benefit of the Philippine College of Surgeons’ extensive outreach programs and missions. After the astounding success, a sequel is definitely in order, as what president Dr. Stephen Bullo, vice president Dr. Marilou Viray and Dr. Ron del Mar hinted with smiles on their faces. Bravissimo!
