CEBU, Philippines - With Alicia Vikander’s star rising, it means the Swedish actress has been attending a lot more glitzy Hollywood soirees. However, she finds something quite peculiar about it.
“People don’t eat!” Vikander said while promoting her latest film “The Danish Girl.”
She said, “There’s a lot of food everywhere and I’m like, ‘Where are the plates?’ It’s always like that. It’s not like that in Sweden where I come from. You sit down and have a meal and celebrate properly.”
She usually heads to a restaurant after red carpet events in Hollywood. “I go to those things and I just realize this is just the place where you get really, really hungry,” she said, laughing.
Vikander, who also starred in “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” also happens to love to cook. “I like to make things a lot of people can eat because it’s social and I’m working so much that if I get the chance, its stews or moussaka or chili,” she said.
She also just discovered Whole Foods when she visited a friend in New York City who happens to live in a building housing the organic grocery.
“I was so jealous,” Vikander said. “I was like, ‘I could cook tonight.’ I went down and I got lost. I was there for two and a half hours. Just being in the supermarket finding all these things I’ve never seen before, I really liked that.” (FREEMAN)
