Luis returns with new season of ‘Deal or No Deal’

Luis Manzano is one big source of pride for Governor Vilma Santos and his dad Edu Manzano. Even if he is born to popular parents, Luis has managed to shine on his own as a TV host, actor, and endorser. He was recently launched as official endorser of the Pure Gold Perks Card, a special privilege card that shoppers can use to earn points and get rewards, just like Tindahan ni Aling Puring which was meant for sari-sari store owners.

The people behind Pure Gold singled out Luis as the perfect Pure Gold Perks Club endorser. “He has won awards both as an actor and as a host. He is showbiz royalty as both his parents are iconic and legendary artists. His fans come from all walks of life. He is the perfect choice,” said Pure Gold operations manager Antonio de los Santos at the launch held last week.

An added perk for Luis as endorser is that he was asked to sing the Pure Gold jingle on radio. “I never imagined in my career that I will be given the chance to sing a jingle. When we were recording it, they told me, ‘Luis, seryosohin mo naman.’ And I told them, ‘Kanina pa po ako seryoso.’ Grabe ang feedback sa social media, both good and bad.”

Luis is happy to be working with Pure Gold as endorser. According to him, he had been hosting events of Pure Gold for the last five years and the fact that he was chosen to be endorser of the Perks Card is an indication that the company is happy with the partnership.

Now that “The Voice of the Philippines” is ending, he is set to start hosting the brand new season of “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.” He is likewise slated to host a new once-a-week game show for a new company.

Luis said he hasn’t decided yet if he will enter politics in the next elections. He has yet to sit down with his Tito Ralph (Recto) and talk about his political plans. He said he has one foot in and one foot out. If ever he does throw his hat in the political ring, Luis said he will still continue to be active in his showbiz career.

He also took the chance to answer the issue why he turned down the offer to star with his mom Vilma and his girlfriend Angel Locsin, in a movie. “I’ve done a movie with my mom but I felt it would become too personal if I would do a movie with my mom and with my girlfriend as well. I don’t want to make my whole life too showbiz. I want to leave something for myself,” he said.

Luis also explained that he did not turn down the movie offered by director Wenn Deramas teaming him up with Alex Gonzaga. He said there was no formal offer that was presented to him. And with his busy schedule, he said it might not be possible for him to have an open schedule for a movie.

Since a number of celebrities have tied the knot, Luis was asked if he and Angel have talked about their wedding plans. “Just a few days ago, over dinner, we talked about it – who we would want to sing and what we would wear. That’s definitely some progress. Things are getting clearer. But there are no other details yet like when the wedding is going to be and where,” he said.

PLDT KaAsenso, the micro-entre-preneurship arm of the telecom leader, salutes hardworking Filipino “minigosyantes” in their quest to give their families a brighter future by ensuring success in their businesses.

PLDT KaAsenso, as it jumpstarts the year with a new image and upgraded products and services, is committed to the empowerment of the Filipino “minigosyante.” It hopes to give them a level playing field where they can become even more productive in their livelihood endeavors.

The same rationale has always been the pioneering force behind all the KaAsenso segments ever launched on TV ably supported by celebrity hosts Regine Tolentino and Amy Perez, whose entrepreneurial zeals have made the partnership stronger.

According to PLDT Vice President and Head of Home Marketing Gary Dujali, PLDT KaAsenso products and services are tailor-fit to the needs of “minigosyantes” or micro-entrepreneurs.

“Filipinos are naturally very resourceful and really find creative ways to provide for their family,” Dujali said. “The role of PLDT KaAsenso is to provide them with simple, yet innovative and affordable technology solutions so they can be more efficient and productive leading to a better family quality life and making their hard work and sacrifice all worthwhile.”

For starters, PLDT KaAsenso has recently introduced its most affordable “minigosyo” package ever — Plan 1888 — which comes with high-speed Internet at up to 3Mbps plus the ever reliable PLDT landline. To make it easy for “minigosyantes” to get started, no upfront fees are required when applying for this plan.

Another innovation from PLDT KaAsenso is the Cyberya - an all-in-one Internet café package that includes a complete computer set, cabinet, and coin-operated timer, and is powered by the reliable PLDT HOME DSL.

PLDT KaAsenso teamed up with longest running noontime variety show “Eat Bulaga!” to raise awareness on “minigosyo” opportunities through its “Juan for All, All for Juan” segment. PLDT KaAsenso gave away Cyberya units to lucky viewers who were selected to receive the day’s prize.

“We’re very happy with the initial outcome of this partnership that allowed us to reach out to people who could really benefit from PLDT KaAsenso Cyberya,” Dujali added. “Our vision is to give every Filipino the opportunity to start his own business with utmost convenience.”
