CEBU, Philippines - Victoria and David Beckham have cleaned out their closets for a cause.
The posh pair has sifted through their stuffed closets rounding up 20 boxes of goodies for the British Red Cross’ charity sale benefiting Philippine typhoon victims.
In a photo posted on Twitter, a casually dressed Victoria is playfully sitting on one of the extra large boxes while other boxes are stacked around her. A second pic shows a sea of shoes in every color. In the background are stacks of clothing on hangers.
The items — dresses, tops, suits, and shoes from labels including Dolce & Gabbana, Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, and Roberto Cavalli — go on sale at the organization’s Kensington and Chelsea shop in London. With all the hype, you can guarantee there will be a line outside of potential buyers for the pricey fashions worn by the pair — and Victoria, who has her own eponymous clothing line, certainly hopes that’s the case.
“Typhoon Haiyan has devastated the Philippines, killing thousands and leaving hundreds of thousands homeless, and the Red Cross is carrying out an enormous relief project to help all those in desperate need,†she said in a statement. “David and I urge everyone in Britain to join us in supporting the Shop Drop for the Philippines campaign. Everyone has something in their closet they are holding onto — a dress, suit, or pair of shoes they thought they might wear again.â€
She continued, “Dig them out, bag them up, drop them off and give someone else the chance to buy them. You’ll be raising much-needed funds for the Red Cross’ aid effort.†(FREEMAN)
