CEBU, Philippines - CCTN Channel 47 will raise the bar even higher for News and Public Affairs with the launch of their new programs to please the viewer’s palate.
The local channel is evolving into a bigger, stronger, and more competitive media network that has been serving viewers from all over the country with programs that continue to be a spiritual guide and an inspiration.
CCTN introduces its flagship local news network broadcast “Sayri 47†which will replace CCTN News. Anchored by Atty. Ruphil Bañoc and Atty. Divine Flores, it will hold its premiere telecast on Sept. 9.
This tandem of Cebu’s media personalities who are both young and respected lawyers, complimented by a dynamic news team made even stronger with top-of-the-line equipment, new set, high quality graphics and large LED screens show CCTN’s commitment to give its beloved viewers the best they can offer.
“What makes ‘Sayri 47’ program unique is, after the newscast, we have an opinion portion with high-level discussion on the day’s hottest issues and we will be presenting both sides of the story. While being lawyers might give us the tendency to be too technical with the terms, we’ve also been part of the media for a long time, so we’ve learned to impart these in layman’s terms,†Bañoc said.
Flores added that the strengthening of CCTN’s News and Public Affairs programs is also in preparation for the 2016 Eucharistic Congress to be held in Cebu.
“We are the only Catholic station in Asia, and the Eucharistic Congress is one of the biggest activities in the history of the Catholic Church, especially that the last one happened in the 1930s yet,†Flores said.
Mornings are also made even better with your new breakfast buddies who dish out the latest news and a deeper discussion on the day’s hottest issues. “Hello Cebu†hosted by Manny Rabacal and Malou Inocando-Tabar, greets every viewer with updated mornings that include the latest on weather, prices of commodities, traffic and live reports on where the action is. Viewers may also give their opinions on the day’s discussion via text.
If politics is your cup of tea, CCTN gives you a unique unlimited dose of government issues and the church’s plight. Where else can you find a mixture of politics and spiritual discussion? Only CCTN, in its pursuit to promote the gospel values that heal a nation, has managed to mix both with the new program “Politics and Beyond,†where relevant issues concerning the government and the Church are discussed with the aim of a better society.
Hosted by former National Defense Secretary Norberto Gonzales, who has served as peace adviser and negotiator of the Philippine government and co-hosted by outstanding youth leader April Seville, “Politics and Beyond†is aired every Sunday at 7 p.m.-8 p.m. with replays every Monday at 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Expect discussions that may reinforce your beliefs or perhaps convince you to change your perspective.
