CEBU, Philippines — A group of local and foreign investors has opened the largest nightlife facility in Cebu, capitalizing on the city’s fast-recovering tourism and economic growth, as well as the revival of the hospitality and entertainment sectors after the pandemic.
LNY Inc., International, the owner and operator of the Park Social chain of resto-bars, has launched its second outlet, Social Park Avenue, located at the Mango Square Upper/Lower Plaza, which can accommodate up to 1,000 people.
During a press conference marking its formal opening, company director Phillip Yieh expressed confidence in Cebu’s thriving nightlife industry, driven by the increasing number of foreign and domestic tourists and the improving purchasing power of Cebuanos.
This 1,000-square-meter venue represents a major turning point for Cebu’s hospitality and entertainment industry.
“Cebu’s nightlife and tourism are rebounding, and we see this as the perfect time to invest in the city. Social Park Avenue is more than a nightlife spot; it’s a hub for culture, dining, and entertainment,” said Yieh.
The success of Park Social in Ayala Center Cebu, which opened 10 years ago, along with Cebu’s promising economic dynamism, is paving the way for potential expansions into Mactan Island and Mandaue City, Yieh revealed.
The Social Park Avenue on Mango Avenue represents the largest investment yet by the Park Social chain of resto-bars.
While the group is exploring franchise opportunities, Yieh emphasized the importance of maintaining quality.
“I don’t want to lose control of the quality. If we expand, it will have to be under special arrangements to ensure the same high standards,” he explained.
The venue is also designed to host private events, complementing Cebu’s recovering tourism industry post-pandemic and aligning with the city’s preparations for the upcoming Sinulog Festival.
Its private room, with a capacity of over 100 people, strengthens Cebu’s position in capturing a significant share of the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) market.
With a 15-year lease agreement and nearly 100 locals employed, Social Park Avenue is set to make a substantial impact on Cebu’s economy and redefine the dining and entertainment scene.
According to Yieh, the group believes Cebu is on an upward trajectory as a prime destination in Asia.
Social Park Avenue offers four distinct areas: the Beer Park, an al fresco garden for casual hangouts; the Main Dining Hall, serving food and drinks; The Upper View Deck, providing a panoramic view of Cebu City and the VIP Room, an exclusive air-conditioned space ideal for private gathers of up to 100 people accommodation.
As Cebu continues to position itself as a top tourist destination in Asia, Social Park Avenue stands as a testament to the city’s resilience and its promise of world-class nightlife and entertainment.
