Marco Polo welcomes new managers

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu City’s only 5-star hotel, Marco Polo Plaza welcomes two accomplished individuals --- one in human resources and the other in technical services ---   to its 5-star team.

Graduating Magna Cum Laude in the course of BS Psychology at the University of San Carlos, Cely Osumo has handled the “people business” for the last 15 years. She has placed her thumb mark on the academe, as well as the manufacturing business before she ventured into the hospitality industry in 2009, making Marco Polo her first stepping stone in the capacity of L&G manager.

After almost two year of self-development in a corporate set-tup in another service industry, Cely returns to Marco Polo as Human Resources Manager. She has enriched herself with a good background of ISO Total Quality Management implementation as well as completed the course on the Zenger-Miller working program. With these new found skills, Cely will be reorienting the MPPC Team on the next level of the human aspect of the hotel business.

A registered Electrical Engineer by profession, Allan Sabandal learned the ropes of his trade in humble beginnings. He started as a trainee at Salcon Power Corporation in Naga, Cebu before being employed by Mactan Electric Company as Transmission Lineman. He later moved on to join Mactan Cebu International Airport Authority for 3 years as System Engineer.

As his career expounded to leading companies such as Pentax Cebu Corporation, Lexmark Research & Development Corp., and Century Properties Management Inc., Sabandal complemented his development with accolades as a Safety Officer, Lead Internal Auditor for ISO 14001 & 18001, and currently as Officer of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers.
