The STAR family lost one of our own last week. Tony Paño succumbed to cancer just five weeks after he was brought to hospital and diagnosed. Needless to say it was quite a shock, to have worked with a colleague day in and day out, and then suddenly to not have him there anymore.

Coming after a discussion on work-related stress (the normal state of being for those of us who work with deadlines) with my colleague Tony Paño, I thought I’d pass this on, not just to five people, but to all of you.

That’s what Siemens does occasionally, coming out with limited edition mobiles for both collectors and fashionistas. Its latest offerings: the SL55 Escada and SX1 McLaren.

The SL55 Escada is a slider phone so one-of-a-kind with its fuchsia casing and pink keypad, surely an attention-getter. Wear it and it becomes a fashion accessory.
