[Title] => No sweet talk
[Summary] => During my time in radio, we used to adviseour news reporters to have sweets ready in their pockets, in case their energy waned while out in the field. A piece of candy would come handy for momentarily alleviating physical exhaustion.

[Title] => In love with sweets
[Summary] => My mother once had an elderly patient who inexplicably burst out crying when visitors brought her a bunch of flowers. The onlookers were puzzled at her behavior. Did she get emotional because she was touched by the thoughtful gesture? When the patient calmed down enough to enlighten them, they laughed and balked at her explanation: "Why did you bring flowers? Im not dead yet!"

[Title] => Goodies and Sweets: Still sweet after 20 years
[Summary] => Even as kids, we could never get enough of anything that is sugary and gooey that came our way, devouring all sorts of sweets as if they were the meaning of our existence. We would even obey our elders and do assigned tasks in exchange for a sweet reward, to literally get our just deserts. As adults, we learned to be polite and say our no-thank-yous with every ounce of restraint we can muster as we bite our tongue in regret when dessert is offered. But then, why should kids only be the one to have fun?
