[Title] => BSP plan to borrow $875 M deferred
[Summary] => The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will postpone to January next year its plan to undertake a club loan to finance its $875 million worth of maturing obligations as the current spreads on Philippine debt papers are too high, BSP Governor Rafael B. Buenaventura said yesterday.
"The pricing right now is too high as the spread on eight-year Philippine papers is between 500 to 600 basis points," Buenaventura said, adding that "with such a wide spread, it would be better for the BSP to wait till next year when the spreads may come down."
