[Summary] => VIENNA, Austria A preferable option for first-line treatment of Parkinsons disease (PD) identified as pramipexole (Sifrol and Mirapex), was discussed by experts at the 6th Congress of the European Federation of Neurological Societies (EFNS) here.
Pramipexole (pramipexole dihydrochloride tablets), earlier approved in the United States for treating the disease in its early stages, was also recommended for the same purpose in Europe. This complies with new guidelines for managing Parkinsons disease, issued in June 2001.
