[Title] => Econg to pursue case vs taxi firm
[Summary] => With or without the complainants, Talisay City would pursue the action against a taxi company which stores up liquefied petroleum gas in its building as fuel for its cabs without securing a permit.
The complainants, who had alleged that the LPG poses danger to the neighborhood, were to meet with City Legal Officer Aurora Econg at her office yesterday. But not one of them showed up.
"If dili na motunga ang complainant it does not mean mana ang kaso (If the complainants do not show up, it doesn't mean there is no case)," Econg said.

As the Senate impeachment court continues its long drawn-out proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte, the daily spectacle of line-item audits and heated legal sparring has dimmed a simpler, darker reality. The trial of the second highest official in the land is not merely an inquiry into liquidations and operational receipts; it is the ultimate stress test for the country’s vulnerable democratic institutions.
