                    [Summary] => The Philippines attempts to enter the Guinness Book of World Records anew when some 13,400 children take part in a toothbrushing drill at Rizal Park in Manila today.


In a statement, the Department of Education (DepEd) said elementary school pupils from eight selected schools in Manila will join the "Mega Toothbrushing Drill" at 9 a.m. in an attempt to beat the record for the "largest one-time toothbrushing activity."

The record is held by China, which assembled some 10,240 students in the activity.

With the theme "Ngiping Alaga Mula sa Pagkabata, Sandata natin sa pagtanda," the month-long celebration will be focused on the dental hygiene and good oral health of students in all public schools nationwide.

In coordination with Colgate-Palmolive, dentists will be deployed in all of the region's public schools.
