My congratulations to The Freeman publisher Jerry Tundag for coming up with an excellent column last week’s “To The Quick” (The Freeman, Jan. 14; p. 15) entitled, “What Have We Become?” The column was indeed a “quick” reaction to a news item appearing on the same issue of the paper date (p. 13) headlined “Baptism of married priests’ kids draws mixed reactions,” by Jennifer P. Rendon.

Dear Mr. Tundag:

This is in reference to the news write up dated October 18, 2010, Monday written by your staff named Fred P. Languido.

Your editorial piece yesterday morning (Nov. 18, 2005) was a welcome reaction to the seeming paranoia regarding bird flu (b.f.) or avian influenza (a.i.)that is becoming a new household item worldwide.

The attention given to this medical phenomenon is overwhelming that basic issues like high prices, corruption in government and cheating to secure power, have become minor concerns for some people.

Brother Eddie, this so-called servant of God has exposed his true nature and self and that is, this man is not a sheep but a wolf. The man is a deceiver. He blames the government for orchestrating harassment against him when in fact it was shown on tv that he really owes money against a certain Araneta, including his son and now congressman Joel Villanueva.

Shame on both of you! You are no better that the American evangelist named Baker who also deceived his flock to amass wealth for his own benefit.
