Reigning national match play champion Artemio Murakami closed out with a two-over-par 74 at Cangolf's south course yesterday to top the gruelling 144-hole NGAP Qualifier for the national pool.

The 16-year-old Murakami repeated over Angelo Que, whom he beat in last year's national amateur championship at Wack Wack, with an eight-round total of 579 as he led 11 other aspirants in the pool from where the members of the national teams to various international competitions will be culled from.
