[Title] => Landowners air concern over DARs budgetary problems
[Summary] =>
Several landowners have voiced concern over the reported budgetary constraints that the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) will be experiencing pending the approval of the 2007 budget.
Owners of privately owned lands, which make up 95 percent of the 1.606-million hectares still up for distribution expressed fears that they might not be compensated properly by the DAR once their properties were covered by the program. Recently, the DAR has discovered new lands for coverage by CARP in addition to the 600,000 remaining landholdings for distribution.

[Summary] => Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. appealed to landowners yesterday to cooperate with the city government in speeding up the reconstitution of the titles to their properties.
The city government had to undertake the tedious and difficult task of reconstituting titles of real estate properties which were destroyed in the fire incident in June 1988 at City Hall.
Belmonte said that of over 50,000 land titles, only 13,000 so far have been reconstituted; 7,500 of which have been handed over to the landowners.
