Caloocan sets auction
December 11, 2006 | 12:00am
The Caloocan City government will auction the property of tax delinquent landowners and those that have accrued large tax deficits.
Mayor Enrico Echiverri ordered Friday the City Treasurers Office, City Assessors Office and the Urban Poor Affairs Office to conduct an immediate investigation on delinquent landowners on whether their land could be auctioned off and allot it for socialized housing for the urban poor.
Echiverri also urged landowners and landlords to just put up their idle properties for sale through the governments Community Mortgage Program or CMP.
He said that this would establish low and affordable land for the city governments socialized housing program. Pete Laude
