                    [Summary] => The records of the case of four US Marines accused of raping a 22-year-old Filipina were officially received by the executive judge of the Regional Trial Court of Makati yesterday.


Makati RTC executive Judge Sixto Marella Jr. ordered the case raffled on Monday at 1:30 p.m. to determine the judge who will now handle the case.


The Supreme Court ordered the transfer of the case of the four US Marines to Makati earlier this week after the Olongapo City Judge Renato Dilag, who was to hear the case, recused himself.

                    [Summary] => A man suffering from schizophrenia was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Makati Regional Trial Court yesterday for the abduction of a six-year-old boy almost three years ago.


Judge Sixto Marella Jr., in his six-page decision, found Felix Beltran guilty beyond reasonable doubt of kidnapping Fidel Quintero who remains missing to this day.


Marella also denied the suspect’s plea of insanity even though there was evidence to substantiate the claim.


Based on the court records, the victim was reported missing on Oct. 6, 1998 by his father Rosauro.
