                    [Summary] => Smart Communications Inc. and Nokia have completed the first High Speed Data Packet Access (HSDPA) call in the country. 


The call was made in Smart’s live network. Smart is conducting HSDPA tests just a month after launching its 3G service. 


With the Nokia HSDPA solution, Smart will be able to offer its customers data services at speeds of up to four times faster than current 3G speeds. 


Nokia is supplying the HSDPA solution to Smart as part of the WCDMA 3G network contract announced in January 2006.

The event had shifted from Cannes to a more temperate Barcelona. The Fira de Barcelona Center was a more appropriate venue, accommodating the 50,000 participants who jammed its clusters of exhibit halls. Our company, Chikka Asia Inc., which is behind the popular Internet-to-mobile phone messaging application Chikka Messenger, was the only Filipino company that exhibited at the event.
