[Title] => Happiness was Having a Sister
[Summary] => Kristina Casimira îKCî de Venecia, youngest daughter of Speaker Jose de Venecia and his wife Gina, died last Dec. 16 from afire tied their arinas Village home, leaving her loved ones with unspeakable pain. To the public, her death was no less of a jolt. The circumstances of her passing away felt horribly unfair.
And yet her family struggles to move on. Joe de Venecia has vowed increased funding for firefighters' equipment. KC's inconsolable mother Gina, although at times doubting her will to live, is carrying on the wings of her faith and her plans for a KC de Venecia Foundation to benefit firefighters' children.
Many rue the pact that KC still had a full life ahead of her. But, as the memorial sentiments of her family and friends show, it was KC's life that showed best how she would like to be remembered: with joy. In the following piece, first read during a funeral Mass for KC, her brother Christopher de Venecia mourns KC's death and celebrates her life.
