[Summary] => Makati Shangri-La holds specific memories to me. I remember how in the mid-‘80s, when I was still painting actively, the hotel was expanding its Philippine footprint in Mactan and Boracay.

[Title] => Tesoro’s launches Great Women Brand
[Summary] => Tesoro’s celebrated another milestone as they capped off the year-long celebration of their 70th anniversary with the launch of the “Great Women Brand (GWB)” last Nov. 9 at Tesoro’s main store located at 1016 Arnaiz Avenue, Makati City. It was a night of cocktails and talks by featured designers that was well-attended by family, friends and the media as they witnessed Tesoro’s efforts to move the Philippine craft story forward and show how the company is innovating.

[Title] => Show me the ‘Mani’
[Summary] => Ronavelle Amen, 39, grew up with the smell of peanut butter in their home in Davio, Iloilo. Her mother Natividad would grind peanuts early in the morning, whipping up her very own recipe for a delicious peanut butter that they would put in plastic bottles and later sell on the streets, in the market and to their neighbors.

[Title] => Culture: Global capital
[Summary] => In a recent online mag called Trendwatching.com, the term “global culture capital” caught my attention. It read: “In 2013, global cultural capital will continue to be overturned just as dynamically as its financial equivalent. One result? Emerging markets will proudly export and even flaunt their national and cultural heritage in the next 12 months. Symbols, lifestyles and traditions that were previously downplayed if not denied, are being brought up to date, to become a source of pride for domestic consumers, and of interest to global consumers.”

[Title] => Where fashion is a plus
[Summary] =>
Is anyone foolish enough to deny the fact that we live in times that try our souls, nerves and wallets? In todays world of chaos with our work deadlines, family and social calendars, life can truly be stressful, especially as we begin a new year.
More often than not we tend to take ourselves for granted and resign ourselves to wearing the same comfortable clothes that require no imagination. We find that daily responsibilities in life take precedence in our list of priorities.
