The gala music, dance and theater presentation of “Wicked” drew a full house to the CCP main auditorium. Viewers were admonished to come in green attire; some responded by donning weird costumes in consonance with the nature of the show.

The musical Wicked continues to break records. When we visited the New Zealand production recently, we were told that Wicked has been seen by over 38 million people on Broadway and the West End, and its touring productions have made stops across North America and the rest of the world.

For the press launch of Wicked held recently by Lunch Box Theatrical Productions and Concertus Manila at the Diamond Hotel, two of the leads for the worldwide blockbuster musical graciously sang the most recognizable songs from the show, much to the delight of the audience. Of course, I couldn’t help but sing along!
