[Summary] => Faulty computer wiring caused Saturday’s fire that gutted almost half of the main building of the Bureau of Immigration in Intramuros, Manila, Commissioner Alipio Fernandez Jr. said yesterday.
Fernandez said investigation conducted by the Manila Fire Department and Immigration officials confirmed their initial report that the fire started from the office of Executive Director Roy Almoro at the second floor.
He said fire investigators pointed to an outlet where two computer units of Almoro’s staff were plugged as the source of the two-hour blaze.

Manila Fire District marshal Superintendent Pablito Cordeta said that although they have yet to finish the investigation on the fire that gutted some 30 percent of the four-story building, there were signs that it was caused by faulty wiring.
Witnesses all pointed to the ceiling of the kitchen of the office of Executive Director Roy Almoro as the origin of the fire.
