[Title] => Bill pits docs vs pharmacists
[Summary] => Time was when the medicine man and alchemist were rolled into one. It was practical in those days of yore: tools and tutors were hard to come by; the King needed but one Merlin to blame - and behead - for failing to cure his aching gout.

[Title] => Up Budget Cut Seals Rp Future
[Summary] =>
The P155 million cut inflicted on the budget of the University of the
Philippines may not seem much to a senator or a congressman looking at about a
hundred billion pesos in deficit. But taken together with similar cuts in the
budget of the Department of Education, we may have reason to fear what the
future holds for our children.
Okay, I am an alumnus of the State University but outside of that, I have no
axe to grind. None of my children are studying at UP.

[Title] => Why Blame Media
[Summary] =>
The administration is taking on a dangerous strategy by blaming media for its
woes. Erap the President has made media bashing a habit. Now, even BSP Gov.
Paeng Buenaventura has joined in. The BSP head blames media for the
skittishness of investors. Tio Paeng, if he was quoted correctly, wants
the press to "cooperate".
Like how? In the manner of the Marcos era newspapers, perhaps? I know Tio
Paeng too well to imagine he has sunk this low. But I think I get his
point. Media had indeed been critical of the Estrada administration.
