WASHINGTON (Xinhua) -- The increased frequency and intensity of oxygen-deprived "dead zones" along the world's coasts can negatively impact environmental conditions in far more than just local waters, according to University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science oceanographer Dr. Lou Codispoti.
