For today’s column, I will feature one such visit, to possibly the largest commercial grower of C&S in Bangkok, Somphop Tantiveerakul’s Cactus House in Prasamutjedee, a suburb of Bangkok.

Fely also has probably the best bonsai collection in the country today. We had a wonderful afternoon touring and enjoying her garden of bonsai. Many of her specimens are award-winners, not just in the Philippines but also in Japan, the hub of bonsai itself. Also on display in her garden were some of her cacti and succulents. The meetings also provide an avenue for members to simply socialize and enjoy each other’s company. This year is extra-special, as this marks the silver anniversary of the society.
