[Title] => Best things in Rio are free, from beach to samba
[Summary] => After years of steady economic growth in Brazil, the dream of an on-the-cheap exotic vacation in Rio de Janeiro has melted faster than a Popsicle in tropical sunshine.

[Title] => Not to be missed Ozamiz
[Summary] => In an unspoiled land where fields are a fertile green and coconut trees are aplenty, the sight of a Boeing 737 airplane can cause quite a stir. Such a big bird coming down from the sky can be a sign of bigger and better things to come. Much is eagerly anticipated (and much is being celebrated) now that one can readily fly to Ozamiz City onboard Air Philippines.

[Summary] => My, its been quite a while since I last wrote my column. Ive been abroad and only just recently returned. [Title] => A tribute to our readers
[Summary] => This column has received numerous responses, queries and contributions from readers across the country and even abroad, and I must say, I am grateful for your interest in these wonderful plants and this fascinating hobby of ours. As a tribute to our readers, I would like to highlight just a few of the contributions I have received to date. There will be more mailbag columns in the future.

[Title] => Carmen Guerrero Nakpils new book
[Summary] => Years ago, when a book of mine (Bamboo and the Greenwood Tree) was published, an official of the British Embassy wrote to me, "Your book must be good because even Carmen Guerrero Nakpil has praised it." I mention that incident as an indication of how Mrs. Nakpil has been looked upon by many, namely, with respect and with fear. For she looks at things with a critical eye, and expresses her opinion clearly, fearlessly, and often brilliantly.
Her new book is no exception: entitled Whatever and published by the Ateneo de Manila University Press.
