[Title] => The abject art of Louie Cordero
[Summary] =>
Recently, I came across an Amazon.com review of Simon Schamas recently published book, Power of Art. It read: "Great art has dreadful manners... The hushed reverence of the gallery can fool you into believing masterpieces are polite things, visions that soothe, charm and beguile, but actually they are thugs. Merciless and wily, the greatest paintings grab you in a headlock, rough up your composure and then proceed in short order to re-arrange your sense of reality..."

[Title] => Life begins at 90!
[Summary] => The members of my ancient medieval original Ateneo Alumni Glee Club brought six of my family from the United States to the Philippines, to celebrate my 90th birthday.
They were my brother Kenny and his wife Geri; my sister Nancy and her husband Tony; and the two eldest children of my Sister Rita, Susan and Jim. Rita, who was the gentlest of my four sisters, died three years ago.

[Title] => Filipino heads and headgear
[Summary] => The tale is told of Datu Bulan, headman of the Bagobo of Davao, who was shipped with Igorots of Cordillera for display as headhunting savages at the 1904 St. Louis World Fair. Bulan did not mind that a sign hung over his head, "Man or Woman," urging spectators to tell from his thick head of hair to the waist what he was. Mesmerized by the tall buildings and iron horses of the foreign land, he was in over his head. He determined to tour at fairs end, and so began his heady adventure.

[Title] => Valuable lessons from a grain of salt
[Summary] => I just had a tough week. I got sick so I was kinda down in the dumps. Apart from the pain and inconvenience, I shudder at the thought of having to deal with the backlog of work when I get back.
To console myself, I turned on the boob tube and, lo and behold, The Greatest Show on Earth was showing on TV! I was ecstatic.
Barnum and Bailey? No, Im talking about that other circus where slapstick is the name of the game.
