In its July 22-28 issue, Yazhou Zhoukan (Asia Weekly), which is the Time magazine of the Chinese-speaking world, hailed Mrs. Arroyo for her vision of a "Strong Republic," her campaign against crime, her vow to implement the death penalty for heinous criminals, and her other moves that were compared to that of China’s reformist Deng Xiaoping.
