Sobrang stress ang na-feel ko noong Biyernes dahil natalo ang Startalk sa contest na sinalihan namin sa Eat Bulaga, ang Sa Pula, Sa Puti.

Fortunately, this doesn’t happen between Showbiz Stripped and Startalk because the two programs are what you may call sister shows. How did this happen? Maybe it helps that around 70 percent of the people involved in Showbiz Stripped are also part of the Startalk staff.

More than a month after StarTalk celebrated its 10th anniversary, we still get a lot of inquiries regarding the commemorative magazine that was published to mark the occasion. The one question we always get is: Is it for sale? The answer to that is no. The only way to get the magazine is to be among the first 10 callers every Saturday during the live edition of StarTalk.

GMA 7 is fast turning its talents into travel bugs. Thanks to its GMA Grand Kapuso Day projects (the network’s way of reaching out and thanking its supporters in the provinces), I’ve traveled a lot this year (on my own, I’ve also been doing a lot of traveling lately).

The other day, I attributed the success of the late Saturday night program Showbiz Stripped to the dedication of the hosts (Ricky Lo and Melanie Marquez), the hardworking staff and the cooperation of their celebrity interviewees. The last one is an important ingredient because it is the revelation of these celebrities that make the show very interesting.

Although Showbiz Stripped has been on the air for only less than a year, this Saturday night program on GMA 7 is already doing extremely well in the ratings game. The show’s success may be traced to the hard work turned in by its hosts (Ricky Lo and Melanie Marquez) and a very efficient and conscientious staff, led by its executive producer, Reylei Manalo. While it’s true that there were already mall shows being staged by both networks the day before, the actual "fight" (am I making it look like a boxing match?) happened on Sunday when GMA 7 put up live editions of SOP and S-Files in Cebu and on the part of ABS-CBN, live episodes of ASAP and The Buzz.

I thought I needed to point that out because I’m now swamped with requests from friends and friends of friends to find them employment in Channel 7 – as if I own the station.
