Kingpin Cebu Basketball League Season 2 kicks off

CEBU, Philippines — The second season of Kingpin Cebu Basketball League kicked off last Sunday at the Cebu City Sports Institute (CCSI) Gym in Barangay Sawang Calero.

Founded by MNL Kingpin Cebu owner Isaac John Wahing, the league envisions a competitive showdown of hoop skills on different levels, from the grassroots to semi-pro and pro.

A total of 10 teams divided into two groups of five are seeing action in the tournament spearheaded byWahing in partnership with Ubec Moto.

The GSC Performance Fuels-Epic Ballers, Nicky’s Gadget, Tiger Shipping Builders Inc., Oninz Trading, and EL Makinista make up Bracket A while Isorep, JD Customs Brokerage, Phenom, and BSL Hoops compose Bracket B together with either the Steadfast Builders or the Cokaliong squad.

They will play under a single round robin format in the elimination.

The top four will advance to the crossover semifinals, with the winners slugging it out in the best-of-three finals.

The champion will take home P80,000 while the first runner-up will pocket P20,000. — EBV (FREEMAN)
