MANILA, Philippines — The National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) is set to receive P350,000 from the MVP Sports Foundation (MVPSF) after the staging of the MVP Cup: One Invitational golf tournament at the Manila Golf and Country Club.
The amount represented the pooled donations from over 400 participants of the two-day event and PLDT Enterprise.
MVPSF executive director Jude Turcuato received the symbolic check on behalf of the NGAP during the fellowship night hosted by the PLDT Group officials led by PLDT chairman and CEO and MVPSF chairman Manuel V Pangilinan last Tuesday.
PLDT vice president and Enterprise Revenue Group head Jay Lagdameo and PLDT VP and head of Enterprise and International Marketing Chet Alviz handed the check to the MVPSF.
“We asked for donations for mulligans from the participants and PLDT Enterprise matched those donations para madoble siya and that amount will be donated to NGAP for whatever grassroots programs they would have,” Turcuato said.
The MVP Cup gathered partners of PLDT Home, PLDT Enterprise and Smart Infinity to promote camaraderie and love for sport in the golf course.
“You’re all invited not just because you’re all good golfers but because you’re valuable partners of the group, not only PLDT Smart but also of Meralco and the rest of the group companies,” Pangilinan said in his speech to the MVP Cup participants.
