MANILA, Philippines — Skateboarder Margie Didal has officially clinched a spot to the Tokyo Olympics in July.
Didal was part of the 20 names released yesterday by the World Skates – the governing body of the sport – who will comprise the women’s street division field in Tokyo set July 25 and 26.
Jericho Francisco Jr., who campaigned in the men’s park, did not make it.
Meanwhile, the Philippines failed to earn an extra slot in judo following an early exit by Kiyomi Watanabe in the women’s -63kg class of the recently concluded World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
The 24-year-old Fil-Japanese drew an opening-round bye but she ran into Brazilian Alexia Castilhos in the second round and was shown the door.
