Zamboanga siblings pull through

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ Denice Zamboanga overwhelmed Thailand’s Watsapinya Kaewkhong in “ONE: A New Breed” in Bangkok, Thailand Friday night to earn a shot at reigning women’s atomweight champion Angela Lee.

The 23-year-old Zamboanga needed just 87 seconds in finishing off Kaewkhong to essay his first knockout win in ONE after four victories via decisions.

It capped in a family celebration as elder brother Drex bested another Thai fighter, Detchadin Srosirisuphathin with a second-round win via a rear-naked choke.

The 31-year-old Drex improved to 8-5 (win-loss).

Fil-Am KC Carlos bowed to two-time Thailand national muay champion Wondergirl Fairtex.
