Parks moving over to TNT

Bobby Ray Parks Jr.

MANILA, Philippines — Two weeks after separate trades with TNT and Meralco, Blackwater is poised to seal another deal with the KaTropa with the Elite’s rookie sensation Rayray Parks at the center of the swap.

The Elite are reportedly shipping ace rookie Parks over to the KaTropa in exchange for forward Don Trollano, two future first-round picks and possibly one of the Semerad twins.

According to a team official, the Elite have already agreed with TNT on the terms of the trade, now pending at the PBA.

“We’re now waiting for the (the decision of the) PBA,” said the official.

If approved, this will be the Blackwater’s third transaction in the last two weeks. Last Oct. 19, the Elite traded Mike Digregorio for TNT’s Brian Heruela then six days later, they shook hands with Meralco to get Mike Tolomia and KG Canaleta plus the Bolts’ 2020 and 2022 second round picks for Allein Maliksi and Raymar Jose.

Parks, namesake of the late great import Bobby Parks Sr., was Blackwater’s first round pick in last year’s rookie draft.

The Elite waited for the young Parks to complete his stint with Alab Pilipinas in the Asean Basketball League first before unleashing him in the Commissioners’ Cup, where Blackwater nailed a franchise best No. 3 seeding in the quarterfinals.

Parks, who scored 11 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals in Blackwater’s 93-101 loss to Ginebra Wednesday night, is nearing the end of his two-conference contract with the Elite.
