MANILA, Philippines — Barangay Ginebra cruised past NLEX, 106-92, for their third-straight victory, solidifying their hold of the PBA Governors' Cup lead in the nightcap of the Friday skirmishes at the Big Dome.
Justin Brownlee of the Gin Kings was his usual lethal self, scattering 26 markers. LA Tenorio and Japeth Aguilar also came with their usual contributions, posting 17 each, as Mark Caguioa tallied 16 points en route to his 10,000th career point after 16 PBA seasons.
"I wis I could've coached him in his prime," head coach Tim Cone said of the celebrated Gin Kings guard.
Caguioa is the 16th PBA cager overall to achieve such as rare feat. He is the 15th among locals.
Barangay Ginebra goes for their seventh victory in eight outings when they face the struggling Meralco Bolts on Sunday at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex.
NLEX, on the other hand, will try to rectify their woes when the take on Phoenix at the Cuneta Astrodome on Wednesday.
