MANILA, Philippines — Romeo Travis had a commendable outing in Magnolia’s latest conquest. One that even earned the nod of his childhood pal, NBA megastar LeBron James.

But Travis, ever reluctant of the limelight, said he was simply doing the role asked of him.

“I’m just trying to help the team. Today they needed me to score, last game I didn't score as much. It goes from game to game. Whatever the team needs, whatever coach asks me to do is what I'm going to do,” he told the press after registering 32 markers.

Travis, who is no rookie import in the Philippine Basketball Association, had a quiet yet almost omnipresent performance. Aside from his scoring output, he tallied 14 boards and seven dimes. He chimed in two steals and a block as well.

The 33-year-old Akron, Ohio, native said everyone was making their presence felt against the Columbian Dyip.

“We played well. Everybody played pretty good today and we're just trying to catch the rhythm of the team offensively and defensively and today we played really good offensively,” he said.

And as far as “best player” goes, Travis stressed it’s floor general Paul Lee, who was coming back from national team duty.

Lee has scored eight, 22, 28, and 13 in consecutive fashion since returning for the Hotshots.

“I don't think I'm leading the charge. I think Paul Lee's our best player. No question. With Paul Lee leading the charge, we're doing really well,” Travis said.

“We missed him when he was gone but now he's back and he's going to be here for a while and I think everybody's starting to settle in into their positions,” he added.

“I think if we keep going the way we're going which is defensively, we'll do well,” he closed.
