FIVB beach volley unfolds at MOA today

MANILA, Philippines — The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour main draw unwraps today with four matches each from the women’s and men’s sides on tap at the Sands SM By The Bay at the Mall of Asia grounds.

Action will start at 8 a.m. the country’s four women and men’s teams will vie for ranking points for other FIVB beach volley tourneys.

Diminutive but high-leaping Sisi Rondina and Dzi Gervacio banner the Philippines bid along with the three other local pairs in Charo Soriano-Bea Tan, Karen Quilario-Lot Catubag, and wildcard entries DM Demontaño-Jackie Estoquia.

Langkawi Open silver medalists Katja Stam/Julia Wouters of the Netherlands and top-ranked Michelle Amarilla and Erika Bobadilla are tipped to contend for the crown in the event organized by Beach Volleyball Republic.
